Sponsor a Child
How Does It Work
The names of all Children in need are submitted to us by the Christmas Bureau which is a partnership between the Salvation Army and the House of Friendship. After the list is received we contact parents of the Children to get their Christmas wish list.
The Sponsor will then have a choice on whether to Sponsor:
- All the children in the Family; or
- A specific child of any age.
- After Sponsorship has been decided, sponsors will be given a Christmas wish list for their selected child or children, which provides a choice of items to purchase. You do the shopping or have one of our Sertoma Elves shop for and gift wrap on your behalf using your donations.
The suggested cost of sponsoring a child is $100-200. Individual donations of new toys and clothing for children from birth to 15 years old are needed as well.
Teaming Up
Is your office, school, sports team or club interested in working together to make a difference for a needy or struggling child or family this holiday season? If so, we hope that you’ll consider working together to raise funds to sponsor one or more of our needy children.
Having run the program for 56 years, we at KW Sertoma know just how incredible it is to put smiles on the faces of children at Christmas.
We hope that your organization can reach out and support this very worthy cause. It’s an excellent way to build team spirit while making a difference in our community.
